Bottle Shock (2008): The Early Days of California Winemaking

Jul 23, 2014 By Patty Moss

bottle-shockIf you are interested in this trip or Napa, in general, watch the film “Bottle Shock” (with a glass of wine, if you so choose).  Although not an Academy Award winner, or even close, Bottle Shock is entertaining and informative. The year is 1976.. the story is that of a wandering Paris vintner and a struggling California winemaker whose lives are transformed at a blind Parisian wine tasting.  This Paris wine tasting event virtually introduced the world to the extraordinary wines of Napa Valley which had been outclassed by French wines, up to that point.  Pick it up on Amazon, Netflix or other film sources.
