Morocco Tour Overview

Join Pack A Fork! on a group exploration through the wonderland that is Morocco. You’ll travel through this North African country characterized by its dramatic coastline, breathtaking mountains and sweeping deserts. Morocco is a country of dizzying geographic diversity. From its ancient cities and historic buildings to the winding maze of souqs in its medinas, the mixed Arab and Berber populations form a strong national identity. Today’s Moroccan culture takes the best of old traditions and weaves a new pattern while looking to the future. Morocco has a hundred faces and sounds – all ready to welcome its travelers looking for spice and adventure!

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Tour starts in Casablanca and ends in Marrakech
  • Explore the ancient walled medinas of Casablanca, Fes, Marrakech, Essaouira and more..
  • Shop – and shop some more – in the souks and markets of each city
  • Tour the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca overlooking the Atlantic Ocean 
  • Visit Volubilis and tour the ruins of this Roman city now a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Tour one of Morocco’s best wineries and enjoy tastings of their wines and award-winning olive oil
  • Walk in the medina of Fes with its 9000+ streets & alleyways
  • Learn about the history and architecture of sites in Fes: Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II, the Kairaouine Mosque and Al-Attarine Madrasa
  • Visit the famous Fes tanneries
  • Participate in a hands-on Moroccan cooking class in Fes; visit the marketplace with the chef to gather ingredients
  • Shop in the Fes souks – we won’t let you get lost (unless you want to!)
  • Hike in the Ziz Valley
  • Enjoy lunch in a Berber home with a family
  • Visit Tourag musicians, nomadic people of the West Sahara, and listen to their unique bland of music 
  • Take a camel ride (or ATV) to a luxury desert camp in the Sahara; spend the night dining under the stars and sleep in a Bedouin-style tent
  • Hike in Todra Gorge – one of the beautiful rock canyons of the Dades Valley
  • Visit the Valley of Roses and learn about rose oil and rosewater production in Morocco
  • Visit the beautiful Skoura Oasis 
  • Tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou
  • Visit the studios where Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Cleopatra & Game of Thrones were filmed
  • Learn about the history and architecture of Marrakech’s main sites: Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs & the Jewish Quarter
  • Immerse yourself in the Moroccan culture at Marrakech’s main square – Djemaa el-Fnaa
  • Enjoy two of Marrakech’s museums during free time: Majorelle Garden & the Yves Saint Laurent Museum
  • Visit a saffron farm and botanic garden in the Ourika Valley
  • Hike in the High Atlas Mountains (easy to moderate)
  • Learn about Berber traditions & culture by visiting a family in their home, taking tea and exchanging conversation (guide will translate)
  • Visit women’s argan oil and Berber rug cooperatives
  • Discover the old Portuguese port of Essaouira
  • Take a walking tour of Essaouira; tour the port, ramparts, seafood market and beach
  • Shop in the Essaouira souks known for their local artisan goods
